Want to know the best, most efficient way to burn fat? The science is in and it’s conclusive! High Intensity Interval Training!
It’s also called PACE training or Burst training but it’s all the same thing. You can super charge your fat burning in just 15 minutes 3 – 4 days a week!
Here’s all you do…warm up your body and get it ready for movement. This might take 3 – 5 minutes. Then do your exercise intensely enough to get your heart rate up to about 75 – 80% of it’s maximum. Hold it there for 30 – 60 seconds. Then slow down and recover. Let your heart rate come back down and do the interval again. Continue this 3 more times for a total of 4 intervals. Done!
This article isn’t going to give you all the details on how to do HIIT. There are plenty of great sites that can do that. I like Dr. Al Sears PACE training information and Dr. Pompa’s Burst Training information.
I wanted to share how T-Tapp incorporates this into the Total Workout. Once again…the science is there even if you don’t realize it.
Think about the beginning of the workout. We always start with our own warm up. Primary Back Stretch. This powerful move warms up the body and gets it ready for more intense movement. Puts us in a fat-burning state and proper alignment! Next comes plies! The plie series is going to get your heart rate up to where it needs to be and it holds it there for about a minute. Then you recover!
I love to use Hoe Downs as a way to bring my heart rate up and hold it there for a short period of time. Then recover and do it again. You can do a HIIT workout just using Hoe Downs.
Want to do a hoe down challenge? Watch the video for my suggestions then try it and let us know what your results are.
Not sure what a “hoe down” is? Here is a video with Teresa Tapp demonstrating hoe downs!!! Enjoy!
