In yoga, you try to get into postures and look like either the Teacher or the other people in the class. It’s a very external practice. You are focusing outside of yourself to get the posture “right”.
In Stretch Class, it’s the opposite. You are focused “inside” your own body. You are allowing your body to tell you where it needs to be in that moment. You move very slowly and mindfully, listening to the messages YOUR body is giving you. You can’t do Stretch Class “wrong”.
There is no “getting somewhere” or looking a certain way. Stretch class completely relaxes the nervous system allowing you to release the contractions you are holding in your body. Come make love to your own body while allowing it to relax and let go.
Relax and Release Stretch Class simply has to be experienced to “get it”. It looks so simple. Like nothing is really going on. But it’s in that simplicity where the juice really is. You are opening up space in the body allowing oxygen and nutrients to rush in to all those places that have been completely contracted and tense.
