Have you been sitting at your desk or in the car for too long? This can cause your lower back and hips to get sore and tight!. The muscles feel like they are locked in place and the part of our brain that control these muscles go into temporary “sensory motor amnesia”. This means the brain doesn’t understand that it’s “safe” to relax and release those muscles it’s holding so tightly!
This Somatic Movement Flow called “the Clock” will help you to unwind the old habit patterns of holding tension so that you can come out of discomfort and regain mobility.
Don’t be surprised if you find these movements a little tricky to do smoothly. Make sure to go slowly and if possible, close your eyes and pay close attention to what is happening inside your body. Somatics actually means being able to experience your body from the inside! The additional benefit is it allows your nervous system to also relax. The brain learns better when it’s relaxed, so the more you can relax everything, the better results you will get from these flows.
