Do you want to lose weight? If you answered “YES!!!”, the next step you need to take is to get really clear on WHY you want to lose weight.
Your WHY holds the key to your ability to make the daily choices needed to accomplish your goal.
If the answer is “because I know I should”or “because my Doctor said I needed to”, you are already setting yourself up to fail. “Should” and “need to” don’t have enough positive energy to propel you forward.
You’ll do just enough to take the edge off and then slip back into your old, comfortable habits. One more diet failure.
Changing your daily habits takes effort, focus and commitment. It doesn’t just happen because you know you “should”! It happens because you have a “why” that is so strong to lose weight and get healthy, you will do whatever it takes to achieve it.
Maybe your Why is to be able to get down on the ground and play with your kids. Maybe it’s to look like the sexiest babe on the beach! Maybe it’s to be free of all medication.
Here’s another little WHY tip. Your WHY should be about something you WANT. Not something you are trying to avoid.
Say these two sentences out loud and see if you can feel the difference in your body when you say them.
“I don’t want to look frumpy when I turn 55 next year.”
“I want to be the hottest looking 55 year old babe ever.”
Which of those sentences had enough positive energy to put your weight loss efforts on jet fuel??? You got it Hot Mama!
Once you have your WHY etched in granite in your mind and body, keep your focus on that positive goal.
This holiday weekend, when your friends tempt you with too much high fat/sugar food, your decision is an easy one. Crappy food now and frumpy body forever? Or clean, balanced food and a hot, sexy, healthy body!!
