Are there areas in your life that aren’t working well for you? When you look back, can you see a pattern? For example, if you are in an abusive relationship, can you look back over your life and see how you’ve been in other abusive relationships and even though this person “seemed” different on the outside, the issues between you two turn out to be the same?
Here’s another example I see all the time. You REALLY, REALLY want to lose weight and get on a healthy lifestyle plan. Perhaps your health is even in jeopardy because of it. Yet you can’t seem to stick with it long enough to get results.
WHAT IS GOING ON????
What is going on is that you have beliefs that have been programmed into your subconscious mind that are not supporting what you desire to have in your life consciously!
Here’s an interesting factoid…95% of your consciousness comes from your subconscious mind! Only 5% is conscious! This is why we say the subconscious is really running your show. If you want to change your show, you have to re-write the script of your subconscious mind!
Your subconscious mind has been programmed since before you were born. From that time up until around 6 – 7 years old, your mind was like a computer. It was taking in your experiences, perceiving them through the mind of a child and then these beliefs form the operating system from which we run our lives.
Here’s a simple example of how this might play out. Let’s say you were in elementary school and a little boy on the playground called you “fatty”. You were so mortified (this created a strong emotional reaction) and your little girl mind got programmed “you are fat and undesirable”. Even if you weren’t fat, the belief got programmed into your subconscious. Now as an adult, you have a difficult time losing weight and sticking to a lifestyle plan because you “believe” you are fat and undesirable.
What can you do to change this situation? Change those subconscious beliefs that aren’t serving you anymore. Those beliefs aren’t truth! They are simply perceptions disguised as truth. Let’s re-write the script!
